The challenge with many of my students is to keep it loose.  The tendency in painting is the desire to paint the eye lashes.  Students must learn to paint with big sweeping strokes, get rid of those dinky little brushes, that will absolutely kill your painting. If you want eyelashes take a picture. We want to capture the feeling, use our imagination and truly learn to see.
